Launch Platform
The launcher is a trailer mounted launch system consisting of a rigid steel frame. Each welded "I" beam measures 4" X 7.7" in a square configuration around the perimeter of the trailer base. Four outriggers composed of the same "I" beam material, each measuring 72" in length provide the platform for the launch tower.
Launch Tower
The launch tower is composed of welded and reinforced tubular aluminum. Three aluminum tubes 2" in diameter arranged in a equilateral triangle for the tower section. 2" tubs placed horizontally and at 45 degree angles reinforce and stabilize the tower structure. Once erected the tower is held in the vertical position by a 3.5" 8000psi hydraulic ram. The top of the tower is stabilized by three 1/4" steel aircraft cables.
Tower Adjustment & Alignment
The launch platform is adjusted to with 0.5 degrees in azimuth by optical alignment. The tower platform is leveled, and the elevation is adjusted to with 0.25 degrees of the designated launch angle by the adjust of four lead screws at the ends of the outriggers.
Additional Features
Additional features of the launch system include a generator for powering tool and lights. A 60 gallon pressurized water system for washing off any propellant spills. The launch tower is equipped with quartz halogen lamps for night work.
